Call me a huge geek and I will answer happily! When GM said I had my choice of cars for my Los Angeles Vacation I immediately asked “Do you have a Bumble Bee convertible?” and my goodness they did!
When my 2011 Chevy Camaro was delivered I honestly wanted to bow to it. It was beautiful and sexy and just perfect. Bright yellow and black paint, soft black leather, there was nothing more I could ask for. Until I tried to put the top down. That was a bit tricky. Once I finally figured it out I struggled with the vanity flap and decided just not to use it. After that, I was golden! I was constantly putting the top up and down for whatever reason I deemed fit.
If the outside was sexy, then the inside was luxe. I mean it had leather, heated seats, a big thick steering wheel, plenty of leg room, an attractive dashboard. The list goes on. I was never uncomfortable as I had been in other sports cars. My friend Victoria sat in the back and said it was very comfy back there, which is a pretty good review as far as I’m concerned.
The actual drive of the vehicle was smooth. I never felt bumps or jiggling. I could go from 0 to a unacceptable speed with no pressure or strain. Slowing back down was no problem either. The brakes were not overly sensitive, a feature I can’t stand in cars.
My one big issue was the size of the cars butt. So much so that I have to admit, I banged it up. Yep, I, Lee Allport with MySentimentExactLee.com, crashed my GM loaner car. I was trying to park in a very small parking spot with a huge pole next to it and I wrapped the Camaro around the pole. I mean I really thunked the side. Two dents and a handful of scratches. The employees of the hotel said they had done it before with cars as well but I’d be willing to bet someone with more “big car” driving experience could keep it between the lines with more ease.
Overall this is my favorite car EVER! I loved the looks I got while driving around. I loved when the really creepy homeless guy started talking in robot talk that he was “Reporting for duty”, I loved when people asked if they could take a picture with the car or drive the car (of course I said no to this). The car made me feel powerful and important and I’d get on the waiting list today if I could afford one.
The neat thing is, the winner of my LA Vacation contest will get a GM Vehicle to drive during the trip as well. I can’t promise you’ll get Bumble Bee, although it is an option, but you will have a vehicle to drive while you are in LA!

LOL Did they get upset when they saw the dents?
Yeah – I’m curious too. What did they say? Does their insurance pay for the damage?
