Yes, it feels like it’s been months but really, it’s only been about 2 weeks since I found out about the movie Ingenious. About how Arriba Films needed some funding in order to get the movie, which stars Jeremy Renner and Dallas Roberts, into theaters. Because you see, it was actually an Indie film made years and years ago. Jeremy doesn’t even look the same. But the production company is smart and they know they have a winner and they want to share it with the world. But the money just isn’t there. So they got even smarter, we could say Ingenious, and they utilized Kickstarter to pull together 48,000 to fund the project.
It didn’t take them long to find backers to help them out. I mean they aren’t just asking for money with nothing in return, there is some sweet swag. For example, if you donate $20 or more you get a digital download of Ingenious with extras. As a Jeremy Renner fan I had to have this. It’s one of his first and only comedic roles. When he first came to Hollywood he did some stand up and improv and not a ton of people know that. The guy is pretty darn funny and we don’t see him flex that funny bone often enough.
Donate $100 and you not only get an actual copy of the movie via mail but a movie poster, a script signed by the writer and some movie stills of Renner, Dallas and this beautiful actress named Ayelet Zurer. You’ve seen her in stuff, I promise. Check her out on IMDB. The swag just gets cooler from there and you can even donate money and get tickets to the movie premieres in either LA, NYC or Chicago. To think, you might be able to see the actors in person, or really impress a date you’ve been trying to woo.
