I have non-existent eye lashes and it’s something that really bothers me about myself. I’ve become somewhat of a mascara fiend searching high and low for the perfect potion to make my peepers pop. I noticed a few of my blogger friends reviewing a product called Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes by Younique and had to try it out. Glancing at the website I notice it says “300% increase to your lashes that looks completely natural”. Now this is not an easy feat with my lashes since as I mentioned above I have next to nothing to work with. So I was put in touch with a rep named Kelly White and a few days later I was holding my Moodstruck package to test these out.
I previously fell in love with a product called Blinc which is a one coat mascara that puts tiny tubes on your lashes that you must then squeeze to pull off for removal. I loved the look, but the removal really bothered me. I still coveted the length and wasn’t finding it in any other mascara on the market. Finally I thought I had found the answer. Read on to see if I was right!
When Moodstruck arrived I had one of those moments where a box seems so beautiful and special you don’t want to open it. I receive enough packages that this doesn’t happen much so it was fun. The fiber lashes come in a purple crocodile like case and there are two tubes inside. One tube is called the Transplanting Gel and the other is the Natural Fibers.
The way it works is you put on your own regular mascara first, preferably a lengthening mascara and let it dry. Next you put on a coat of the Transplanting Gel which has a kind of ooze like consistency. It is not clear like you would think a gel would be, it is dark and not exactly wet but definitely not dry. It’s very neat. Then while that layer is still wet you open the Natural Fibers. Now this is when it gets real folks. I was not expecting to find what I saw when I opened that tube. It honestly seems like a mascara brush of ground up course carpet fiber. There is nothing wet about it, it is purely dry green tea fibers. This is undeniably one of the coolest beauty products I’ve ever seen and I used to work with Brittany from ClumpsofMascara.com so I’ve seen a lot of stuff. Now do your best to really swizzle that wand around and pick up as many fibers as possible from the tube and then touch touch touch your lashes. Go ahead and coat them like you would any mascara but also touch around and add to them. Just work with it and have fun. Then take that Transplanting Gel we talked about earlier and do another coat to seal it all in.
So how did it work for me you ask? Well remember how I said I barely have any eye lashes? It’s simply hard to make a 300% increase to anything that was lacking that much in the first place. Of course it worked and I love it and it’s my new “Can’t Live Without” beauty product. It’s an obsession, I love it that much. But when you look at my pictures you might not be WOWED the way you would be if you were seeing a professional makeup artist do pictures. But I assure you it’s a huge difference. Look above at my pictures. The top picture is of me with no mascara at all. The middle picture is of me with some lengthening mascara. The third picture is of Younique Fiber Lashes. Keep in mind I barely touched my lower lashes because I fear poking my eye out. I also have NO MAKEUP ON. I understand that I’m new at this and need to work on my application. I’m loving every minute of practice.
As far as 300% increase that looks completely natural, well my honest opinion is that I need clarification on this statement. If they mean it looks like you have no make up on then they are full of tomfoolery and ballyhoo. If they mean it looks natural in the sense that you are wearing a lot of mascara then sure, it looks like I put on any brand of mascara. By no means does it look like I have fibers on or anything like that. But it does not look like I rolled out of bed with these eyelashes. If only.
I’ve included pictures of myself (top), the Younique rep Kelly (bottom) and Trisha from MomDot.com (directly above) who also wrote a glowing review because she loved Moonstruck 3D and was the reason I had to try it. Another review to check out is over at ShibleySmiles. This gives you three reviews to look over and decide if the product is right for you.
Have you tried fiber lashes before? Have you tried fiber mascara? How did these products work for you? Feel free to leave a comment in my comments section!
This time I’m not able to give a product away. However if you are interested in purchasing the Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes by Younique for $29 or any of the other products Younique carries you can do so by checking out my party. I can’t stress enough what a great gift this would be for the Holidays. The case the tubes come in alone is enough to brighten any girl’s smile. There are also mineral eye shadows, cleansers, BB creams and so much more! But this lash work is definitely the life of the party. Click below to be taken to the site.
