CLOSED! 4 Ingredients Cookbook Review & Giveaway!

by Erika on June 11, 2011

Cover 186x300 CLOSED! 4 Ingredients Cookbook Review & Giveaway!Every mom wants to save time.  There are only so many hours in a day and when we’re picking kids up from school, taking them to and from ballet, soccer practice or whatever the activity may be, finding the time to put a good dinner on the table can be a major stress.  We just want a quick, easy and cost-effective home cooked meal for our family.

Two life-long friends Kim and Rachel were moms like you and me living in Australia.  They dreamed up an idea over a glass of wine to create a cookbook to make their lives easier with recipes containing just 4 or less ingredients.  Their first book aptly named 4 Ingredients became a breakout bestseller in both Australia and the UK selling more than 2 million copies to date.  They have also printed 3 additional books, a cookware line and 2 popular television programs that air in over 16 countries.   With a spring launch of their original bestseller, 4 Ingredients, Kim and Rachel have entered the US market.

4 Ingredients has over 400 tried and tested recipes.  The book is extremely “busy-mom friendly” with each recipe being explained in an average of only 4 sentences and all recipes can be prepared with just a 1cup, 1 tsp, or 1 tbsp measurements so even clean up is a breeze.  There is even a special section including meals specially designed for children including lunchbox meals.

I love to cook and collect cookbooks.  I had a lot of fun checking out 4 Ingredients because the recipes are so simple that you think to yourself in some cases “why didn’t I think of that recipe”.  I like how many of the recipes are easy to prepare that I can even have my little chefs help out.  The book really helps take the stress out of that question ‘What’s for dinner.”

One thing I did find interesting was the wording in the book.  I like how they did not edit out their chosen words to appeal to an American audience.  It makes for a much more interesting read and kinda puts a smile on your face when you read a word like Scrummy.

If you want to add some simplicity to the kitchen without sacrificing good taste then check out 4 Ingredients by Kim McCosker & Rachael Bermingham.  You can also learn more about them on their fabulous website www.4ingredients.com.au.

Right now one lucky reader will win a copy of the cookbook 4 Ingredients. Follow instructions below to enter.

To Enter (worth one mandatory entry):

It was actually Kim’s idea but it was Rachael’s insistence that got the book going. Kim is from Queensland and has a degree in financial planning. She has 3 children and the book is her 4th child.

Without a sliver of doubt however, the most rewarding of everything accomplished to date has been the birth of her three precious little boys Morgan, 7 Hamilton 4 and Flynn, 1. For Kim, family is THE MOST IMPORTANT thing in the world and carries the greatest priority of all she does! Renovations to properties were done with the children playing in the yard, recipes tested with them mixing and stirring, books written around their sleep times and trips made only when her wonderfully supportive and very loved husband Glen could be home for them.
