My daughter Karolyn is an awesome review buddy but sometimes I get a bit jealous of the great things she gets. One such item were a pair of Chacos sandals that we posted the review for on May 2, 2012. She absolutely loved how she could custom fit them to her foot with the use of their strap system as well as how they gave her unmatched comfort all day long. I loved that she could wear them and not worry if her feet got wet. I thought to myself how much I wanted a pair and low behold after we posted the review they asked me if I wanted to try a pair.
I chose to get the same style as Karolyn, the Z/X 1 Yampa Sandal. This sandal has a double strap polyester webbing with an open toe area. I like how it looks delicate on my foot, but the durability and functionality of the sandal is far from anything I would categorize as delicate. The sandal is lightweight, very supportive of my high arch and has a low profile Vibram® Yampa outsole as well as the Chaco’s signature LUVESEAT™ platform. The shoe has the Custom Adjust’em Fit just like my daughter’s Chacos. The shoes are Vegan, Resolable and are non-marking. They provide excellent traction to the wearer on and off land as well as all day comfort.
My Chaco’s have yet to disappoint. They have been worn all day in a theme park, shuffled along the deck of a fishing boat and explored the disappearing islands of the intercostal waterways of New Smyrna Beach and Ponce Inlet. They have also casually strolled during many errands or relaxed under the table while I worked registration for this year’s Vacation Bible School. In a few weeks they will be spending 10 days as my daily wear while in Sanibel Island on our yearly family vacation exploring the beaches for shells as well as fishing waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
I like so many things about this company. First I love how with Chaco’s there is an option to create your own sandals. You have the option of choosing the sole, strap style and color to create your very own custom pair of shoes. The choices are very vast so you may want to set some time aside to create different pairs to see which one you like best. I really like how you can send them back to be resoled or as the say ReChaco. Being able to resurrect an old favorite is a huge bonus. I also really like all the information available on their site about care and wear of their shoes and fit of their styles. You can be sure that the choice you make will be the best Chaco for you and that they last for many years to come.
If you are looking for a step up from the regular outdoor sandal then look no further than Chacos. These rough and tough sandals are comfortable, stylish and built to last.
