Constructive Playthings Drawing Station Review And $50 Gift Card Giveaway!

In case you haven’t heard, Constructive Playthings has some of the best educational toys on the market. Recently when I was given the chance to review my first item for the Constructive Mom’s Program I chose a really useful Drawing Station for my 5 year old son Jason.

The majority of kids out there enjoy coloring. Whether it be crayons, colored pencils or markers their faces light up when you offer them the chance to get creative. The great thing about this Drawing Station is it contains all three and a neat set of “no roll” pencils as well. All together you’ll find 8 soft grip colored pencils, 12 markers, 12 crayons and those pencils I told you about. They are all perfectly contained and separated in a heavy duty bright blue card stock box.

Jason had the best time playing with this Drawing Station. He really liked that he could tote it around with him upstairs, downstairs and even to and from the Grandma’s houses and it always stayed neat and organized. He has other coloring tools of course, but the appeal behind this blue card stock box can’t be beat. I even hear him saying “There’s a place for everything and everything has its place” when he is putting it all away. And he is right. As the mother I’m grateful for the easy clean up.

The only thing I would change is that the markers don’t seem to be washable. I can’t find anywhere that it says one way or the other, but Jason chose to trace his foot and hand one day and it took 3 showers for the marker to come off. Now for my 5 year old I don’t worry he’ll draw on my walls or anything, but I also have a 2 year old in the house so we need to be very careful. As a company that prides itself on developmental toys I would recommend changing this feature in the future. Though I also admit I would have ordered it anyway even knowing the markers weren’t washable. We’d just play with it during Spencer’s nap.
