Disney Social Media Moms! The Parties Bring Us All Together!

At Disney Social Media Moms we get to know one another and look forward to seeing each other each and every year. The way this happens is at the parties. Sure, the conference is great and we learn a ton, but the parties are where we can let loose and really have a great time. It’s the moment we all realize that yes, someone else’s child is having a complete meltdown over the menu choices or the sand under their feet or any number of reasons that absolutely make sense to the other mothers. Because guess what, in general we are all the same and Disney Social Media Moms allows us to celebrate this as a happy group.

The Swashbuckling Soiree: The first night we arrived Disney did it up right for the kiddies with a Pirate themed Swashbuckling Soiree. We were treated to a crew of musical buccaneers who serenaded us with Pirate tunes fit for only a ship like The Black Pearl. While the adults sat and got to know one another the pirates in training searched for buried treasure, danced with Radio Disney and were supervised while taking part in many other fun swashbuckling activities. The best part however was the ice cream freezer with a full stash of goodies such as popsicles, Mickey Mouse ice cream sandwiches and much much more. That was certainly the treasure chest everyone was searching for filled with treats galore! I enjoyed chatting with Mitch from http://www.gaynycdad.com and making a new friend.

Animal Kingdom DinoLand: The following night we had the Animal Kingdom Dinosaur Land all to ourselves. Jason and his friend seriously rode the rides around the park such as Expedition Everest and Dinosaur 50 times each. There were absolutely no lines so they were able to just walk on and off. I don’t know how it didn’t make them completely ill. My husband and my younger son Spencer enjoyed the midway games which were complimentary for the Disney Social Media Moms group. Unfortunately even after 2 hours of game playing Spencer never won a prize. I think he was perfectly happy just having played though. There were also a lot of characters that came out to greet the group. My kids took pictures with Minnie and Mickey and Spencer took pictures with Donald and Daisy! While they were doing this I reconnected with friends Jackie from http://www.freeismylife.com and Stefanie from http://www.mommymusings.com. It was a great time.

It makes me so proud to live here in Orlando and be able to say that I grew up with this Magic all around me and continue to raise my children underneath it all.
