I never really understood why people would go through all the trouble of traveling with their pet. That is until I got Buddy. Now I get it. I hate leaving him behind when I go on vacation, even though he stays with his second family who probably treat him better than I do, he always comes home 2 pounds heavier than when he went to “Club Jung”. Now that Jake is going away from home, I know how much Buddy will be missed and how important it is for me to find a way to bring him along to visit Jake whenever possible. First thing, I had to shop for a travel dog crate big enough to fit our moose. This is when I found Dog Digs Travel Crate for extra large breeds.
Traveling with your pet is a lot easier today than it was 20 years ago. The “NO PETS ALLOWED” policy seems to be a thing of the past. Now the only restrictions in most hotels are that you keep your pets contained if you are not in the room. This is where Dog Digs Travel Crate is my savior. Most crates that are built to fit a dog as big as my Buddy are too big to fit in my car. They are bulky, heavy and hard to manage. Not Dog Digs, this crate works just like a pack and play for the kids. The Dog Digs unfolds and locks into place and when you are done, you simply unlock the sides and fold it back up. Easy, simple and lightweight, the Dog Digs Travel Crate is perfect and has enough space that I am comfortable leaving Buddy without worry.
Dog Digs come in all sizes. I happen to have an extra large dog and therefore needed an extra large crate. Honestly, I think I could fit 2 dogs inside this one.. Buddy is about 110 pounds; he probably could have fit into a large Dog Digs Crate, no problem. The set up is super easy, well that is once Jake showed me what I was doing. I was able to set it up alone, but it is easier with two people for a crate this size. I imagine a smaller crate would take little to no effort at all. The crate is made up of a durable canvas with a large zipper door made of mesh so your dog can see you on the side and another one on top, which is great if you have puppies to contain. I had a hard time warming Buddy up to it, but I’m certain that was because he hasn’t been in a crate for over 5 years. I’m sure once we are on the road, the Dog Digs Crate will give him great comfort. It’s also large enough to fit his bed, so that will help keep him calm.
The best part is that the Dog Digs folds up so nicely and comes in a carrying case that I can just throw in the trunk of my car.
