Last Friday I was treated to a cultural experience at the American Pavilion in Walt Disney World’s Epcot. The Kinsey Collection is an art exhibit featuring over 400 years of African American achievement and contribution. During this run at the American Pavilion about 40 pieces will be shown at a time, but they will be changed out so please come back frequently to see them all.
You may have seen the Kinsey Collection previously since it does travel from museum to museum, even being shown at the Smithsonian. However Disney’s Imagineers have made it their own by giving it a touch of Disney magic. As you stroll through the exhibit you will run into lanterns which will interact with you. When you turn their handle the voice of a celebrity will help bring the history to life. The celebrity guest voices are:
China Anne McClain
Tyrel Jackson Williams
Listen to what Bernard Kinsey had to say when asked the difference between The Kinsey Collection being seen at The Smithsonian and Walt Disney World. It’s honestly all in the storytelling, which Disney does best.
Please visit Epcot’s American Pavilion to see Re-Discovering America: Family Treasures from the Kinsey Collection and learn more about:
The exhibit is included in the cost of your entrance into the park and will run until further notice.
