Chuck Epic Fail NBC. Apparently Chuck Premiered Tonight, But Youd Have Never Known It!
For anyone who hadn’t heard, and most of you have, I just returned from interviewing celebrities on the red carpet at The People’s Choice Awards. I just spent a week in Los Angeles, driving hither and yon taking in the sites and sounds of the city. I also watch far too much television.

Why am I telling you all of this? Because apparently Chuck had a 2 hour Season Premiere tonight on NBC. However, you never would have known it. I had not heard a single thing about this. And as you can see above, I get around.

During the Chuck season I live and breathe John Casey. Any show with Adam Baldwin is going to be my favorite show. Unfortunately any show with Adam Baldwin usually gets canceled. I started watching Chuck with the promise I would not get attached. I’d watch each episode and enjoy one of my favorite actors, but understood that he was unfortunately, a show killer. I for one believe that too much of a good thing can’t last. But I digress. Chuck has actually lasted through 2 full seasons and it is a good show. One of the best on TV for its genre. Nerds are the big thing right now and Chuck brings nerd to the table on a silver platter.

If you have never watched Chuck let me give you a very quick run down. The lead character is named Chuck Bartowski played by Zachary Levi. He is a lowly college drop out, nothing can go right in my life, I play video games all day…nerd. However one night his ex college roommate turned super spy sends him an email with all the governments secrets inside. They flash inside Chuck’s brain and make him an asset to our country.

Soon after, two agents, Sarah Walker played by Yvonne Strahovski of the CIA and John Casey played by Adam Baldwin of the NSA are sent to kill Chuck, but end up becoming his handlers instead when the Government realizes how important he can be. Chuck is known as the Intersect and is dragged all over the greater LA area “flashing” on people and things of great Government importance.

Every episode is a new cluster of how Chuck can get himself into deep trouble and Casey and Sarah will have to bail him out. Of course a slow brewing romance begins between Chuck and Sarah as she must pretend to be his girlfriend for their cover. Casey also loves Chuck in a friendly manner but doesn’t like to make that known, even to Chuck himself so a lot of dry humor and discomfort is par for the course. In the season finale of season 2 Chuck gets a new upload into his brain that makes him a super spy. He even knows Kung Fu.

Needless to say I’ve been waiting on pins and needles for my favorite show to begin. I had heard a rumor they would be premiering after the SuperBowl and that was the last I heard. Until tonight when I happened to catch wind two hours too late that the 2 hour premiere was on, on a different night than usual.

I had not heard about this on a single billboard. I had not seen this on a single commercial. I had not seen this on a single entertainment show. Not a single magazine cover. I find this to be an epic fail on NBC’s part. They have no idea how lucky they are to own Chuck. The writing, directing and acting on this show is far above what we are offered on other shows every day. More money needs to be put towards Chuck immediately so huge fans like me don’t miss out!

I’m not happy with you NBC, not one bit. I’ll let you know when you are back in my good graces. A phone call from Adam Baldwin wouldn’t hurt. Just saying.

Chuck Me,

Hope you get your phone call! I'm still pissed at them for canceling ER! Ohhh….and for canceling Medium…thank goodness someone else picked it up.

Dude, ER was like 19 years old? LOL. Did you know ER was actually a show that George Clooney had starred in years before the ER started on NBC. That made no sense, but take a look for yourself!

Actually, I've seen commercials and heard about it on the radio this week. Maybe it just not your local stations and channels playing stuff.

Well I was most definitely busy this past week with People's Choice, but I was in your neck of the wood Julie. Not a single bill board, nothing. Chuck deserves more respect.

PS: I hope you had a chance to watch though!

I hope I am doing ths right. I've never commented on a blog before. I found your link on a Chuck fan page. I too had no idea Chuck premiered tonight and was really mad I missed it. I can watch it on the computer another day but it isn't the same. I would have made it a big deal and invited friends over and had Subway. Oh well, I agree though, big fail. Maybe you'll get your Adam Baldwin phone call.

I think you've just been busy woman. I've seen a ton of previews for this but had never heard of the show until I saw them over and over again this week.

I didn't know about the season premiere either. The only reason I found it was because a friend was tweeting about liking Chuck and I checked the channel guide on the TV. I saw at it was starting in my area 30 minutes later. Then after the first hour, I thought it was over for the night until the next hour started.

NBC only picked the show back up because of fan outcry at the end of last season. My guess is that they want it to fail, but it's a good show and deserves more attention and hopefully more viewers.

Definitely an Epic Fail on their part.

I'm not going to call you crazy, but I did see something about this last week.

I agree with you however that the marketing of shows and advertising of shows has really gone downhill. The person above who said they want the show to fail could be right, but the thought scares me. NBC just needs to stop trying to change time slots around. That is a killer for shows.

Treat Chuck with more respect and we'll buy stuff from you. How much more clear can we make it.

Aw. Poor Adam Baldwin. You called him a show killer. It's true of course but why you gotta play? He has really changed his image on Chuck so hopefully it sticks around and the Adam Baldwin curse is broken.

I love Chuck it is my favorite show. I didn't know it was starting up new yet either. Now you have me mad too. Well not you but the situation has me mad. I think they are trying to kill it off because I am not sure they were happy about the whole Subway thing.

I LOVE Chuck, too!! It's the best show and while I've seen commercials about it's return, I didn't know it was premiering last night either. I only happened to be on the right channel at the right time and caught it. It was pure accident though. I would have been SO upset to have missed it, too!!

I Love the show Chuck and Zachary Levi is just about the cutest guy on TV. Everything about the show is great, right down to the "Buymoria" Flag in Chucks apartment. LOVE IT!

That being said, I only know about last nights 2 hour premier because I have CHUCK scheduled on my DVR. There was some advertising, but not much. I think they are trying to kill the show at the corp. level. From what I saw last night, I'm really hoping the writters are still on board to keep Chuck alive. My family would really miss it, it's one of the only network primetime shows that the entire family can still watch. Even though last night I was shocked and thrown off by the use of the word "pussy" in the show. Just another indication they want Chuck to die, in my oppinion.

I don't watch the show, but all day Sat during the football game every commercial break there was a commercial for the show. I know that you were busy last week, but there was commercials for the show. I know that I saw other commercials for it during the week also.

Hey Lee,

They had been showing commercials here for the week before. Not as many as usual for a premiere, but I did know about prior to be asked by WB to do a couple of plugs for the show.

I have to agree with the previous commenter on this…I think corporate is trying to kill it for a new show. We shall see though. Thanks for the heads up on the p word! I won't be letting the kids watch with me. If I ever get a chance to sit down and watch it. LOL

I guess I am lucky here in Canada, the network that airs it here was really good about promoting it.
I don't know why the major networks are afraid of anything that has anything to do with science fiction. There is a market for it, a very good market.

So a lot of you knew about it, and some of you didn't. I need to follow Chuck on Twitter, that would be my first step.

NBC I hope you are reading this, you are getting some great feedback.

By the way, there comes a day where you realize your fantasy man is smarter than you and that day is sad.

My hubby is a HUGE fan of the show. He has been stopping non-stop about the show premiering last night. Whenever he saw a commercial for it, he would get all giddy like a school girl. LOL!! Anyway, I'm sorry you missed the premier, but we did see quite a bit of commercials for it. Since u've been busy that must be the reason u missed it! Hope u can catch a repeat soon! :)

hhhummm… maybe this is why I never watch NBC??
they do not promote the good shows??
Or it was intentional to foil you from seeing your guy on TV???
Or couldn't handle you being in LA & on People's Choice… maybe afraid you could pre-empt them??? a MySentimentexactLee conspiracy!!
That has got to be it!

NBC, give Lee a call!

I hate to be the devil's advocate here, but it's your favorite show and you didn't check online to see when it would be premiering? If there are shows I don't want to miss, I'll be sure to keep up with when they're starting again! (Or set my TiVo to record them automatically!)

I saw lots of TV ads and internet ads too- I think you were just watching 2 shows where they didn't run the ads. May I suggest zap2it.com? That site has the skinny on all shows- cancellations, schedule changes and columnists- TV Gal is the best. Sorry you missed it- I think you can catch the premiere online.

Is that an excuse I don't know about? I'm in the UK? I'm going to use that now…"Wow, even I knew about that I'm and in the UK". And then people will look at me funny because they will know I'm in Florida and it will be awkward.
