Grab a taste of the Islands this summer with Firehouse Subs. Their limited time King’s Hawaiian Pork and Slaw sandwich starts with the famous Original King’s Hawaiian Sweet Sandwich Bun. In between the bun they place a delicious Carolina Style pulled pork that has been hardwood smoked for 12 hours. The pork is then topped with Sargento Pepper Jack Cheese the then steamed to perfection. That’s not the end of it though. Then they slap on a yummy homemade Hawaiian slaw on top and there you have it, a delicious summer sandwich that will make your mouth water with anticipation.
I recently took a trip to Firehouse Subs with my family to try their new King’s Hawaiian Pork and Slaw sandwich. If you don’t already know, our family is huge Firehouse Subs fans. My husband eats there weekly if that tells you anything. My husband and I usually order 2 different subs and split them so we get the best of both worlds. This time we shared the new sandwich and the Engineer on whole wheat. The sandwich is not really meant to be cut in half because it could get messy but we did it anyway and it still held up really well so don’t shy away from sharing. The pork was super tender and juicy. I enjoyed every last bite and I would definitely order it the next time I visit.
The sandwich is a limited time offer but I would love to see it added as a menu staple. Also I thought the use of a King’s Hawaiian Roll was genius. It went so well with the pork. The slaw was also really good. If they do not keep the sandwich then I think that the slaw would make a great addition to the Firehouse menu line-up as a side item. I also think that the King’s Hawaiian Roll is another great choice of adding to their bread line-up. I would love to try their Smokehouse Beef and Cheddar Brisket on the King’s Hawaiian Sandwich Bun. It would probably be so good you would get arrested for eating it.
I ended my meal with one of their cookies. I have a mild addiction to their lemon cookie and their oatmeal raisin cookie. It is a bit of a problem if you ask me. I have eaten them for breakfast on more than one occasion. I also made sure to walk out of the store with a full refill from the Coke Freestyle Machine. My drink of choice of the 125 choices is the Dasani Sensations with Orange.
I highly recommend trying the King’s Hawaiian Pork and Slaw Sandwich before it is gone. Be sure to get a cookie and stop by the Coke Free Style machine too.
