School has started and I’m sure I’m not the only one having trouble transitioning from the fun lazy ease of Summer to the daily routine of school season. One of the most difficult transitions we’ve had though, has been Jason’s new schools lunch policy. No kidding, they have 15 pages of food restrictions. No artificial colors, no artificial flavors, nothing with more than 6g of sugar. Seriously, the list goes on. It has taken us forever to figure out something Jason is willing to eat, that he is actually allowed to eat. Many products from Frito Lay fit the bill and so do many other snacks from Frito Lay.
Here is one we found on the Frito Lay website. It’s meant for Halloween but can be enjoyed anytime.
Fritos Fingers: Halloween Inspired Fun
Ingredients:
1 Tube Refrigerated crescent dough rounds
1 Bag FRITOS® Original Corn Chips
Instructions:
• Create several dozen cones by wrapping aluminum foil around your fingers or a ½ inch diameter dowel, spray the outside of the cones with cooking oil and set aside.
• Roll the dough rounds out to 1/8 inch thickness and cut into 1 inch by 12 inch strips.
• Place a FRITOS® Original at the top of the foil cone and wrap the dough around the chip and down the cone slightly overlapping the dough strip.
• Place “fingers” on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and bake at 325O for 12-15 minutes.
You can even add a veggie dip or hummus on the inside to make it more hearty!
