Ice Box Bakery Cookies Review and Giveaway!

by Lee on July 8, 2010

Ice Box Bakery 1024x768 Ice Box Bakery Cookies Review and Giveaway! Here we are smack dab in the middle of the busiest time of the year for parties and gatherings with friends. June is a huge month for parties, be it graduation, conformation, baptism, Memorial Day or the plain old impromptu gathering simply because it’s a nice day outside. I find myself saying the words “what can I bring” a lot in June. I’m a busy mom, I work all day and I’m single so at night it’s all about the house work. It’s always fun to be invited on the weekends to parties and special occasions, just not so easy to find something quick and simple to bring along to share. Now, thanks to Ice Box Bakery and their line of all natural cookies, I will never show up empty handed to a party again!

Ice Box Bakery was founded by Jen Bush, a pastry chef from Boulder, Colorado and working mom. She was looking for a quick and easy treat for her kids that had all natural ingredients so it was not a mystery as to what she was feeding them. Everyone loves cookies especially the chocolate chip varieties and Jen successfully developed chocolate chip cookie dough that is quick and easy. Perfect for us moms on the go.

The dough comes to your house packaged in ice to keep it from spoiling on its journey. The dough is wrapped in plastic with a paper label that has cut lines printed on it to make the perfect cookie. You get a dozen cookies per roll and it’s as easy as slice and bake. No shopping to be done or bowls to clean. Because the dough is made with only the best all natural ingredients, you can feel comfortable knowing exactly what you are bringing to that BBQ for the kids to snack on. All natural and as easy as 1, 2, 3, for me, that is just as good as homemade.

Although Ice Box Bakery has many varieties of cookie dough to choose from, my family got to sample the Deluxe Chocolate Chip and the Double Dutch Chocolate. I have to admit that I am a chocolate chip cookie expert. I was not as impressed with the Deluxe Chocolate Chip Cookies as I was the Double Dutch Chocolate. The Deluxe Chocolate Chip were not soft and gooey and that is how I like my cookies. The Double Dutch Chocolate Cookies were soft but did have to be baked about 3 minutes longer than the package suggested so they would not fall apart because they were so soft. However, that being said, they were so good my family ate them all in a matter of 30 minutes. We loved them!

There are several other kinds that Ice Box Bakery has to offer including a Tart Cherry Pie and a Chewy Ginger Spice that sound to die for. Not to mention those flavors are much more adult friendly and can be set out for a card game snack or something to have with Cosmo’s around the pool. The best part about these Ice Box Bakery Cookies is the ease of preparation and the all natural ingredients are a huge plus as well. The perfect thing for any mom to keep in the freezer, just in case.

I love to cook and try every kind of cuisine and recipe I can get my hands on. But when my friends call for an unscheduled party, I do all orders and think of easy and convenient way to show up full handed with simple cookies too. I want to try Ice Box Bakery too, and see how my friends crave to have it everyday. Thanks!
