It seems like my kids always need a new pair of shoes. I feel like I am shoe shopping every month. Ok, let’s be honest, I’m actually shopping for me. But really, I am always looking out for something for my kids especially my daughter Karolyn. Her newest pair of shoes are the Merrell Barefoots for kids.
We received the Merrell Barefoot Pure Glove for Kids for review in mid May. Karolyn chose the color Lavender Lustre and we got them in a size 2. The Pure Gloves are vegan friendly meaning there were zero animal products used in making the shoes. They have a Vibram high performance rubber sole that is very durable and slip resistant. They can be used on rough terrain as well as on the sidewalks. They have a synthetic and mesh upper with a hook and loop closure system for quick adjustability. The footbed is microfiber and treated with Aegis® antimicrobial.
The exterior of the shoe has a wider base so that your child has more contact with the ground. This gives them greater stability for their little feet. There is also an EVA Midsole 1mm forefoot shock absorption plate that helps maintain flexibility and protects their foot from pressure. The shoes are also pretty light weight. They weigh only 3.8 ozs.
I was a bit worried at first about the comfort of the Barefoots for Karolyn. Kids feet are so delicate. I have wanted a pair for myself for a long time but just hadn’t had the opportunity to shop for them yet. There is a ton of info on their site about Barefoots which made me feel really comfortable about trying something new.
I first had Karolyn wear them in the house for a few hours to get her used to them. She didn’t seem to have any trouble at all. Next thing I knew she wore them to school all day long. She came home telling me, “Mom, I love these shoes! They are so comfortable!”
She loves the fact that she doesn’t have to wear any socks with them and I love the fact that they don’t stink. I did read on their website that when they do get gross I can just toss them in the wash. SWWEEETTTT!
I love Merrell shoes and will actually be posting soon on a fabulous pair of leather sandals called Henna’s I received from them that are like heaven on my feet.
