I told you last Friday about Oxygen’s new show I’m Having Their Baby which focuses on the birth mother’s perspective during an adoption. I simply can’t imagine how the birth mother must feel as she hands over her own flesh and blood to another family simply because the timing in her life wasn’t ideal to raise the baby herself, or whatever the reason might be that kept her from being able to parent her child.
Tonight at 11/10c we’ll meet the first in a set of 6 birth mothers and adoptive families in the docu-series. Each one holds a uniquely emotional story. I’d like to ask you to join me in an Oxygen live chat to discuss the hard to talk about issues. Oxygen values our opinions and would appreciate a chat room filled with intelligent women who can discuss even the most delicate issues in a mature and responsible manner. And don’t worry, there will of course be some light hearted moments and even some tear jerkers for us to bond over.
I’m sure for the majority of us it would be hard to empathize with these women, but to feel for them in their situation is something I’m sure we’ll do quite quickly. It isn’t everyday we see adoption through the eyes of the birth mother, it’s usually through the eyes of the happy family bringing home the bundle of joy. I for one am interested to see what goes on behind the doors of this woman’s life during and after the adoption process is complete.

interesting idea
I’d love to hear how the birth mother feels and why she does it.
I think it’s a good idea to open up other venues for young teens to see it’s really a good thing to do especially if they’re really young.
I think this show is a great idea to give people a different perspective. Though I don’t think you wouldn’t see a show about the other alternatives.
