A few months back we shared our thoughts with you on a product called Gutzy Gear. If you didn’t read it, be sure to go back and check it out. At the time of our review they were only sold online. We are happy to announce they are now available in such stores as Toys R Us, Wal-Mart and Office Depot. They also have a ton of new styles of Gutzies including Marvel characters and Monster High as well as Collector Books for your Gutzies.

You should definitely go back and read our review to know our thoughts but for now I’ll give you the abbreviated of what Gutzy gear is. Gutzy Gear is a great new product where you get Gutzy Straps that you can put on your backpack straps and then begin collecting Gutzy patches. There are tons of Gutzy patches to choose from for both boys and girls. They affix to the Gutzy Straps with a heavy duty Velcro and come off with a good tug. Your child can choose Gutzy Patches that express their personalities and then if they see a friend with one that like they can trade them.

A few weeks back I was honored to be able to host a Gutzy Gear party where I introduced Gutzy Gear to almost 20 children. We first showed all the kids the patches that Karolyn and Kyle had on their backpacks and how they worked. Then I showed the kids some additional patches, put the girls patches in Karolyn’s back pack and the boys patches in Kyle’s backpack. The kids then lined up and without looking pulled a patch set out of the backpack. After they got their patches we let them start trading. For over 30 minutes the kids traded back and forth. Even the boys and girls traded some amongst each other which was really great.

All of the patches were a big hit but we had a few standouts. The 2 pack of boys dragon patches were the main standout. Every child wanted one. There was a mom that came who had 2 boys. Both her boys pulled the dragon packages. She is so wonderful though that she made her boys trade a dragon with another child so that more kids could have the dragons. There was also a patch that was a black and red paw print. It may not seem like a big deal but our school is the wolf pups and we use a black and red paw print for our logo. It looked like this Gutzy was created especially for our school. It was perfect for our kids and everyone that went to our elementary school wanted one.

Once they were done trading I gave each child a set of the Gutzy Straps to put on their backpack. All the kids were so excited to have received such an amazing gift from Gutzy Gear and every parent was talking about going home and checking their website out to buy more. All the kids went home happy with dreams of more Gutzies to add to their collection in their head.

I had a great time hosting the Gutzy Gear Party. At just $4.99-$5.99 for a set of 2 they make a great party favor and future stocking stuffer. They also work great to stock up on and use for incentives for your children for good grades and such. You can also pair the Gutzy Patches with the straps that retail for just $9.99 and you have a wonderful gift for a child’s birthday party.

Happy Collecting!
