Jake and I were faced with a dilemma this summer when we took our east coast trip. Amtrak only allows carry-on luggage for coach passengers traveling between states. So how do you pack for a 10 day trip using only a carry-on? The first thing that came to mind was to use those Space Saver Bags that I’ve seen on TV. Only problem is that once I got to the first hotel I would be opening up the bag and I wouldn’t have access to a vacuum cleaner to re-pack for my next stop. When I rolled my clothes up in the small bag that fit in my carryon luggage it worked pretty well. Not quite as good as it does with a vacuum, but I didn’t expect it to.
