“There is nothing to eat in this house” If I had a nickel for every time I heard those words out of my kids mouth, I’d have no money worries for the rest of my life. What he means to say is that there is nothing quick and easy that tastes good for a lazy teenager to prepare for himself to eat in the house. Alright, I confess, I wander up and down the food aisles at the grocery store trying to figure out what I can purchase for Jake to eat when I’m not home so that I don’t have to listen to him complain when I am. Superpretzel PretzelDogs have become a staple in our freezer ever since Jake’s first bite. They are an easy snack for an teenage boy who doesn’t want to cook but wants something more hearty than a bag of chips.
Pretzeldogs are bite sized hot dogs wrapped in a soft pretzel crust. They come in 3 flavors; original, cheddar and new jalapeño. There are 12 per box and are perfect for a lunch, snack or appetizer tray. The Superpretzel Pretzeldogs are microwavable and you can cook the entire box in 2 minutes. The pretzel stays soft and the hot dog stays juicy.
I tried both the original and the cheddar Superpretzel Pretzeldogs. Both Jake and I agreed that the original was the better of the two. The cheddar dogs could use a little more cheese, but they aren’t bad. The hot dogs don’t shrink up so much that you lose them in the pretzel after cooking. They are more filling than the typical crescent wrapped hot dog and they are easy and extremely quick. Both things a huge plus when you are at work and they are at home wanting a meal. For more information about Pretzeldogs and other Superpretzel products look to facebook and twitter.
Right now Superpretzel is giving one of my lucky readers a box of original and a box of cheddar Pretzeldogs to try.
