This past year at Disney Social Media Moms I was gifted this beautiful Pink Faux Alligator Skin Mickey Mouse Laptop Case. It is absolutely the classiest laptop carrier I have ever seen. It’s a hard material to keep your computer from getting beaten up during travel. On this inside are nifty little compartments and straps. It has one long carrying strap that matches the pink alligator skin. It runs a bit small (says it fits 15″ laptops) so if it won’t fit your laptop it can be used for a handy carrying case for all the other electronics you bring on trips (think Ipad, camera, cords) or for so many other things. On Saturday our family and a group of friends all went out to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the Star Wars Weekend events. The Star Wars Weekends are held over four consecutive weekends and is an annual summer event celebrating the Star Wars Saga and the TV animated series The Clone Wars. Kids can learn to be Jedi’s at Jedi Training Camp and prepare to do battle with Darth Vader and they can also hop on a Starspeeder at the Star Tours attraction. There are also tons of opportunities for autographs from original Cast members and great picture opportunities with characters.
We are season pass holders and have been off and on for about 10 years now but this was the first time we attended this event. We did see many characters around the park but it was in no way an inundation of Star Wars. All the normal Hollywood Studios fun was still going on but instead of seeing Mickey you see Darth Vader walking past you. We still did go get a picture with Tow Mater though. My son was mesmerized by the Jedi training show. If you go early you can get up front and will be most likely to get picked. Every day ends with the Hyperspace Hoopla! Show. This is where many favorites let loose with music, comedy, dancing and more. You get to see Ewoks, Wookiees, stormtroopers, Jawas and more. This is definitely a keep your camera ready event. There is also exclusive event only merchandise that you can buy at the “Dark Side”.
One warning. This event may be scary for little kids. I went to go put my stroller up with my friend before we went on the Backlot tour. All of the, sudden out came 5 Storm troopers and Darth Vader. This little girl probably 3 ½ maybe 4 just started screaming bloody murder. She was terrified. Ok, I will admit we started cracking up. Hey, I would have laughed if it was my own child too. I am just a bad mom that way. But regardless of this small warning, it is Disney. Everything Disney does is awesome. Someday I hope to tell you about a fantastic Disney cruise my family and I went on. OH, Dare to dream!!

A little about Kanter’s role with Playhouse Disney Programming:
Kanter oversees the development and production of all long and short-form live action and animated series. She is responsible for the creative vision of Playhouse Disney, unifying all programming, marketing and brand management teams and ensuring cohesiveness between programming, promotion and all extensions of the brand.
Kanter supervises the development of Playhouse Disney’s most successful original series to date, including the top-rated “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse,” “Handy Manny,” “Imagination Movers,” “My Friends Tigger & Pooh,” “Little Einsteins” and “Higglytown Heroes,” as well as the newly launched hit “Jungle Junction,” and upcoming series, “Jake and the Never Land Pirates.” Kanter was also instrumental in acquiring the hit series “The Wiggles,” “The Doodlebops” and “Charlie and Lola.”
