CLOSED! Texas on Tour Giveaway!

by Jackie on June 7, 2011

Texas on tour.jpeg CLOSED! Texas on Tour Giveaway!I love to travel! I’ve vacationed in 20 of our Great United States and plan to visit them all one day. One of the places I’ve never been, but really want to see is Texas. I want to line dance in a real Honkey Tonk Bar, enjoy real good barbeque and maybe even ride a mechanical bull. Texas is such a huge State with so much to offer it’s hard to decide where exactly to go. The most important thing about planning a trip is knowing what there is to do in the places you want to see. The Texas Board of Tourism has launched Texas on Tour. This interactive traveling road show highlights all the best things about Texas and what Texas has to offer for a fun filled vacation. Scheduled to stop at State and County Fairs nationwide this summer, Texas on Tour is fun for the entire family.

Jump into a Kayak and take part in the virtual waterways tour, or take a photo with the family where you can picture yourself in Texas. There is a live entertainment stage featuring some of the best music from Texas. You can speak to representative about planning the perfect Texas vacation for you and your family. Look for the Texas on Tour site at your local fair or visit www.texasontour.com or http://www.traveltex.com now to see what fun awaits you in Texas.

To promote Texas on Tour we are offering one lucky winner a Texas chili bowl gift set and a Texas on Tour Gift Pack.

To Enter (worth one mandatory entry):

Tell me how you would spend a vacation in Texas

Extra Credit (worth one separate entry each you do):

1. Comment on any non giveaway post on this blog. Each comment is worth one entry and you can comment as many times as you’d like. Come back and tell me where you commented each time.

I graduated from University of Texas in Austin so I’d spend my it visiting my college town and seeing how much it’s changed over the years. Probably head out to Lake Travis for some boating and Barton Springs for some swimming

Definitely San Antonio, I’ve wanted to go there for a while. They have theme parks, a super water park, Sea World and river walks. Not to mention great history.

I would go to Galveston Island (my son is at the medical school there) and spend my time at the beach with the grand kids! Or I might vacation in The Woodlands, north of Houston, with it’s great Town Center. Or visit my mother in San Antonio and hang out at the Riverwalk. This contest is making me homesick (in Denver now.)

I have friends in Texas who are always bragging about the arts there, and about the many great restaurants. I’d spend a Texas vacation with those braggers and have them take me to all their favorite arts places and festivals and restaurants.

I’d vacation in Texas at a dude ranch! It’d be fun to learn to ride horses, rope things, and just live like a cowpoke! I’m sure its nothing like on TV, but I’m sure it’d still be an adventure that I could talk about for years!

I’d start a tour of Texas by visiting relatives outside of Houston. Then we’d swing over to San Antonio where we went on our honeymoon almost 35 years ago. We’d eat a lot of great Mexican food, shop on the Riverwalk, ride a barge down the river, and go to the Farmer’s Market. We would tour the Alamo and other missions.

I live in Texas, but love to vacation here also. There are so many great places to visit and I haven’t managed to make to very many of them yet. I would love to take my husband to Johnson Space Center and the River Walk in San Antonio (oh and Sea World).
