This holiday season check out some great new titles from the wildly popular series The Complete Idiot’s Guide. For over 16 years they have helped teach and inform readers in a very entertaining and easy to read style. With over 450 titles available in both print and digital format, there is sure to be a guide for everyone.
Here are a few great new titles this holiday season:
Dry skin is a common problem that plagues many skin types during the winter months, and gifting homemade Sweetheart Soap for Dry Skin is the perfect way to combat this frustrating problem. The Complete Idiot’s Guide® to Making Natural Soaps provides readers with everything they need to know to make a variety of products, including facial soap, shampoo soap bars, and even soaps for babies and men.
I am currently teaching myself to both crochet and knit and love to read book about it so The Complete Idiot’s Guide® to Amigurumi is great for a semi-crafter like me. It guides readers of all experience levels through detailed instructions needed to hook one’s own Amigurumi character. Suggested figures include hamsters, mushrooms and toadstools, human characters, seasonal Amis such as snowmen and elves, and more. There is also a great section of color photos to see what finished projects will look like as well as instruction on how to upsize or downsize your characters.
College students, bachelors and busy families all have something in common: they often struggle to prepare healthy, balanced and delicious meals. Lend a helping hand by gifting homemade snacks and entrees that can be quickly thawed and happily devoured. The Complete Idiot’s Guide® to Easy Freezer Meals offers more than 100 recipes specifically designed to be successfully frozen and reheated. This book is one of those buy one for me and buy one as a gift. I have a friend that is always struggling to get a meal on her table and I am planning to give her a copy of this book for Christmas.
Ok, so I know what you are thinking. I’m not at idiot, why would I read these books? Well they are not for idiots. They are for smart people like you and I who just want to learn a new task that can sometimes make us feel like idiots if we can’t get it right the first time. The easy to read format of their books lay it all out there for you in easy to understand verbiage. There is nothing worse than reading a book that is trying to teach you something but the author is talking to you in “trade talk” that obviously you don’t understand because if you did you would not be reading the book. I had a few books like that when I first got pregnant and finally turned to these easy to read books and now anytime I am looking for instructions, this format is my go-to format.
