This is Buddy. Buddy is the lite of my life now that Jake is too old for me to “cuddle”. Buddy is a 90 pound mouse of a dog. I got him from a friend who was giving dogs away because his farm dog had puppies. Buddy’s mother was a Chocolate Lab and his Papa was a Rolling Stone. One thing I know, Buddy is a messy eater. I mean, you can’t really blame him. If I had lips that hung down to my elbows I would be a messy eater too. For years I have just dealt with the messy floor and wet walls every time Buddy ate. Then Neater Feeder contacted me to check out this new dog bowl system that keeps your floor clean and your walls from getting wet. I have to say it is the coolest thing and since we started using it, Buddy acts like dinner time is suddenly a big honor.

The Neater Feeder is designed to keep the water and food that your dog tends to drop and slop all over your clean nice floors and walls contained. It’s really a pretty simple design. The bowls go inside a semi contained plastic area (or upper reservoir) that has a unique filter in the front where your pet would typically make a mess. When your pet is slopping up water the excess drains down to the lower reservoir of the Neater Feeder, while the food stays on top away from the water; which is great because I personally hate cleaning up water soaked dog food. Genius! Your pet eats like normal and your floors stay clean as a whistle. No more sweeping and mopping twice a day.

The best part of the Neater Feeder is the different sizes. They come in 6 sizes for dogs and 2 sizes for cats. The large Dog Neater Feeder (which is what buddy has) is made for dogs weighing 35-100+ pounds with a 20”+ shoulder height and has extended legs to lift the bowl 11” off of the ground, which is great for Buddy’s ego, but even better for his joints as he gets older. The large Neater Feeder is for dogs that are 35-100+ pounds, but have a 15-21” shoulder height. They don’t need the extended legs, so this bowl is lifted 8” off the floor. The medium and small work the same way, but the measurements are based for small and medium sized dogs.

Cats can be messy too, although I think they do it to mock us. So Neater Feeder has thought of them as well. The Cat Neater Feeder is 14” across, but can be purchased for small cats up to 6” shoulder length that sits 3” off the floor, or the big Rum Tum Tugger cat that is 6”+ shoulder height and sits 4.5” off the floor. Either way, your kitty is no longer going to bat food all around your kitchen.

The Neater Feeder comes with two stainless steel bowls and non-skid rubber pads that attach very nicely to the bottom legs so that your pet doesn’t push it around. It’s easy to assemble and requires no tools. If I didn’t need help, then believe me, neither will you. Be aware that you will need a decent amount of space to fit it in. I was really surprised by the size of the thing. I think that is why Buddy loves it so much, he feels like a King when his dinner is served in the large Neater Feeder.
