Both of my children had a hard time learning to use silverware. Spencer is nearly 2 years old and hasn’t quite grasped the concept. When Tiny Tongs asked if they could send me their product free for a review I decided to give it a try.
Every time we sit down for a meal at the table it has to be a stressful nightmare. Spencer can’t figure out how to use his fork to pick up his food and so he needs our help. The problem is he is nearly 2 years old and we don’t want to feed him like a little baby. So in his zest to impress he makes the biggest mess known to man and the dog ends up eating over half his food. We don’t want him to eat with his hands but we don’t want to spend the entire meal catering to him.
Tiny Tongs has helped us eat half our meal in peace. Tiny Tongs are kid sized tongs used to pick up food with ease. They are non-toxic and dishwasher safe which helps to put mommy at ease as well. The Tiny Tongs are made with a non slip grip so I don’t have to worry about Spencer picking something up and the product slipping out of his hands. He has problem squeezing the tongs and picking up pieces of food so it is a win/win.
Now we let him use the Tiny Tongs for half the meal, so we can all eat in peace. The other half of the meal we still work on silverware because as I mentioned above, he is almost 2 and he needs to know how to eat properly. While I love the Tiny Tongs they are not going to replace proper eating ettiquette but they do serve as a nice break for all of us.
