This past week I was invited as press to the announcement of the Universal CityWalk expansion 2014. The brand had so much to talk about and I’m going to cover it all with you below, but there is just one word that I’m going to use throughout so get familiar with Burgushi. I’ll explain later.
Recently a pizza place opened at the front door of CityWalk called Red Oven Pizza. It’s delicious and the pizzas can each serve 2 people or more if you have a small child. There are interesting flavor combinations such as Fennel Sausage Pizza and Bianca Pizza which is so delicious it makes my knees weak. This restaurant is the first in the big expansion taking place over the next year. Here are some of the other eateries we can look forward to as well.
Antojitos Authentic Mexican Food-This place looks delicious. Fresh ingredients for tapas style dining. Who doesn’t like tapas? They are small servings so you can enjoy a little more of all the things you love!
The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar (Burgushi)-This is the restaurant that will save my marriage. Almost any night I eat out with Tim he wants a burger and I want sushi. Now we can both be happy. I keep seeing write ups on this media event explaining that the burgers have sushi on them and the sushi is made with burger ingredients and this is NOT true. I even asked the owners. It’s simply a restaurant with the best of BOTH worlds. I’ll write much more on this soon. An entire post about Burgushi coming after Christmas. I get excited when I think about it. Burgushi. Mmm. But when we say Burgushi you have to put both your hands together splayed out like the joining of souls. Like this, wait no, like…just look at the picture.
Pranzo Italian Kitchen Concept-Not much to know about this restaurant yet except that we’ll be able to watch the chef’s make the food. That’s always nice and I’m sure it’ll be great.
Cold Stone Creamery- People go crazy for Coldstone so I don’t doubt it will always have a line at CityWalk. You can make your own creations at this ice cream boutique. Birthday Cake ice cream is a favorite for so many of my friends.
Hot Dog Hall of Fame-A mustard bar. Need I say more? Not only will this restaurant have baseball park style seating but they will have numerous types of hot dogs. I basically know one type of hot dog and that is an Oscar Meyer with hot dog and ketchup and apparently that is a bad choice. Because the owner made it clear that they will never “never ever” put ketchup on a hot dog! Check it out for yourself.
Bread Box Handcrafted Sandwiches-Sometimes you just get tired of sit down restaurants and fast food as well. A sandwich is exactly what you need. Bread Box will be the perfect place for those in need of a fresh quick lunch between parks. Much like the way my family and I went between parks at the Naughty & Nice Holidays at Universal event recently.
Menchie’s-If you aren’t exactly an ice cream fan but still want a nice cold treat check out the frozen yogurt selections at Menchie’s. We have them all over Central Florida and no matter what time of day or night there is always a line out the door.
2014 is going to be a great year for Universal CityWalk and for Universal Orlando Resort all around. Keep an eye out for the upcoming posts about Cabana Bay Beach Resort and the new Harry Potter Diagon Alley extension!
*I was invited to this event as press but received no additional payment or opportunity.
