Every year I tell you about Walt Disney World’s Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and this year is no different. This is my favorite event of the entire year for so many reasons which I’ll be sharing with you below. So grab your costumes, parents that means you too, and get ready to party Disney style!
The reason I recommend visiting Walt Disney World’s Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is the price of the ticket. At just $62 for an adult ticket and $57 for a child’s ticket (except for Halloween night which is a bit more pricey) you get the entire park with half the crowd and free candy. That’s a great deal. You won’t wait more than 20 minutes for your favorite ride and the wait times are more like 5 minutes. You get a lot more character opportunities since the Character dance parties feature all your favorites who are willing to take pictures with you and there is no wait. Plus there are characters located all over the park with much shorter lines than on regular park days.
On top of everything I mentioned above you are also treated to an extra special extra “spooky” parade called the Mickey’s Boo To You Halloween Parade. Mickey, Donald, Goofy, the Princesses and all your favorite Disney characters dress up in their favorite Halloween attire to bring the fun in a parade where you can actually get a great view and possibly a place to sit. I personally love the scenes from Disney’s Haunted Mansion and nothing is too scary for your little one. At the end of the parade everyone gets a lollipop.
If you are fans of the Disney Villains and lets be honest, everyone has a favorite villain, check out the Disney Villains Dance Mix and Mingle at Cinderella’s Castle. This is a show where the villains dance and sing on stage and then come out to the audience to greet your family. Photo opportunities are available. If by chance your children are scared of villains I suggest you sit this one out.
We ran into the Dapper Dans this year, however they weren’t looking so hot. Actually, they were looking rather…dead. I asked them what was going on and they told me they had a new name for Walt Disney World’s Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and that was The Cadaver Dan’s. But not to worry, because they were still full of song, these songs were just more on the ghostly side. I caught them in Frontier Land so be sure to keep an eye out, but put that eye back in before you leave the park or you might scare someone.
Finally the best park for most people is the candy. So much delicious candy all over the park and it’s included in the price of your ticket. You even get a bag when you walk into the park so no need to bring your own unless it matches you costume. Throughout the park you’ll find treat stations with lines, they might seem long but they move faster than lightning. Be sure to say Thank You when the nice attendant fills your bag because good manners are always appreciated.
So there you have it. Affordable ticket prices, half the crowds, nearly no wait times for rides, spooky parades, Halloween entertainment everywhere you turn and of course delicious candy waiting to fill your bag. That is what you’ll find at Walt Disney World’s Mickey’s No So Scary Halloween Party 2013. I don’t know how else to sell it to you. If you are a local this is the time to hit the park and if you are visiting then it is a chance to add something special to your itinerary.
Have fun and Boo To You!
