The Rainbow Loom and other similar products are extremely popular amongst girls and boys ages 5 and up. You might be wondering, “Where can I buy a Rainbow Loom?” because at this moment they are sold out in most stores. Of course you can buy them online but when you have a small child begging “NOW NOW NOW” it’s hard to say “Let’s wait 7-10 business days sweetheart! Just be patient.”
The truth is The Rainbow Loom is one of the best kid’s products to hit shelves in a long time. My reasoning, it doesn’t take batteries. You heard me right, this product is not an electronic. It’s actually a crafting toy which allows kids to use their imagination to create jewelry, bookmarks, keychains and I even heard tell of a mini handbag.
Michael’s is the best place to find a Rainbow Loom in store, however I know that in most metropolitan areas they have been sold out for some time and when product arrives it sells out quickly. I learned today that 7-Eleven sells a rubber band loom kit called Magical Loom Kit. It sells for $15.99 and includes not only the loom, hook, bands and clips but also a set of 6 rubber charms to make the jewelry personal. Most are girly but there is a soccer ball. The only difference I can see is that there are S clips rather than C clips and it seems only Rainbow Loom brand has C-clips possibly because of a patent issue. Also, if there are numerous boxes to choose from, open them and check the loom color. The color on the box is green but we got home and our loom was purple and the hook was pink and Jason was really upset by this. Obviously there are different color choices.
You can purchase a rubber band loom kit at Toys R Us as well and they have two different kinds but it isn’t always easy finding a Toys R Us. But if you have a 7-Eleven in your area there is probably one on every corner, so that is a safe bet.
I hoped I helped you solve the “Where can I buy a Rainbow Loom?” issue that we were experiencing in our home. And like I said above, this Loom Kit craze might not be such a bad thing. It isn’t technology, it’s back to basics creativity and imagination. Jason sits and plays quietly for hours figuring out different rubber band bracelet patterns. His favorite so far is the fishtail so I’ve included a How To make a fishtail rainbow loom bracelet video above.
