Tim and I try and celebrate our birthday’s and anniversary every year as a nice getaway because they are all withing a few weeks of one another. This year we just wanted to relax, do a little sleeping in and have some together time. The Wyndham Vacation Resort’s Wyndham Royal Vista Pompano Beach, FL was the perfect setting to do exactly that.
When we arrived we were pleased to see the resort sat directly on coast. There were no worries about crossing a bridge or a busy street to get to the white sand beaches. Check in was a breeze and speaking of breeze, there were huge palm fronds fanning you at the desk. They were gorgeous and really added a sense of style and welcome. The decor was of course that of a beach, obviously I wasn’t expecting the wilderness. Plenty of photos of fish adorned the walls and mixed wood colored wicker furniture with huge comfy cushions called your name. Whether you were waiting for someone to finish up at check in or you really needed some time away from your family, the lobby was a great hang out.
You have two choices for parking at the Royal Vista, either in a lot out front of the building, or in a parking structure next to the building which is conjoined and has an elevator. After parking our car we found our room and walked into what we considered to be the nicest apartment we never had a chance to live in ourselves. Seriously, we lived in a lot of apartments of our years of dating and marriage but this takes the cake. Our “room” was a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 1 living room, dining area for 6 and huge kitchen apartment. And don’t let me forget to mention the decorating was far beyond anything I would ever have been able to imagine up myself. Again, they went with a beach looking theme with oars on the wall paired with medium colored solids and whimsical designs to set those off. It was genius.
The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans and all the serving items you could need. I really mean everything, unlike some vacation resorts I’ve stayed in where they think you only need a bent fork, 2 glasses and a pot that is rusty. No, the Wyndham vacation resort goes all out with matching dinnerware and all the rest. When you are finished with your stay they ask you to load the dishwasher but they’ll even start it for you. No muss, no fuss.
The rooms sleep 6. You have your master bedroom and then the kid’s room which has two full beds. There is a sleeper sofa in the living room as well, so you could sleep 8 people in the apartment comfortably. This sounds like a family reunion if you ask me! You have two showers, one which has a bathtub and you have a jacuzzi bathtub in the master bedroom. Good luck keeping the kids out.
There is a washing machine and dryer in the room for your convenience but any linens or towels are not your responsibility, simply walk them out into the hall and toss them into the laundry chute. Someone else will do that laundry. I know right! If only it worked that way at home.
The Wyndham Vacation Resort’s Wyndham Royal Vista Pompano Beach, FL really is a place to get away from it all. You won’t find a lot of restaurants and hustle and bustle brewing on their property. You can take a drive, or even a walk, a few miles down the road and find plenty or places to eat and shop but you have a full kitchen so you are welcome to just cook for yourself as well. There is a market open for breakfast and lunch where you can get things like a sandwich, burger or hotdog which is nice when you are at the pool or on the beach. There is a bar so you can get a drink.
They have daily activities like frisbee tournaments, volleyball games and things such as this. Be sure to check the calendars which are located all over the property. If you have something special in mind talk to a staff member and they can probably make it happen, they want you to be happy. You can also go to the other Wyndham vacation resorts in the area such as the Palm-Aire which has a spa and is within walking distance. That would be a lot of fun for mom especially if she had a friend along.
In this hurry up and wait world it’s a pleasure to just take a moment here and there to relax and enjoy the people around us and our surroundings. The Wyndham Vacation Resort’s Wyndham Royal Vista Pompano Beach, FL. is just the place to do this. Book your stay today by visiting http://www.wyndhamroyalvista.com
