You Know Those Awkward Moments Where You’ve Made A Fool Of Yourself!

Fortune Cookie Huge 200x300 You Know Those Awkward Moments Where Youve Made A Fool Of Yourself! We’ve all been there, we’ve tried to wave at someone and realized it was the wrong person. Or maybe you make a phone call and begin spilling your guts to the person on the other line, only to realize you have the wrong number? Welcome to my past week, not once, but twice did I make a full of myself in public. Each time revolved around my co-writer Erika!

The first time I was in the grocery store and thought I saw her at check out. I yelled, “Erika, HEY!” and she didn’t turn around.

“Erika Bodwell! Don’t you try to act like you don’t see me!” I holler louder.

Finally I’m doing a giddy dance waving my arms and screaming “AIR ICK AH, AIR ICK AH” when suddenly she turns around to look me in the eye, and it isn’t her at all.

There is no playing it cool at that point, I was acting like a total dork and I’ve been caught. So I did what any self respecting person would do and bent my head and told my husband, “Quick walk to the right, go that way, go that way”. All the while he is laughing hysterically because he saw it all happen first hand.

A few days later Erika called to tell me that a huge fortune cookie was dropped off at her door and she had no earthly reason what it could be for. After pulling out the fortune we were thrilled to see our blog was asked to be a part of the Step 2 2012 Blogger Program! I told her she could keep the cookie, knowing her affection for sweets.

However 30 minutes later I remember she needed to take a picture of it before she ate it. I quickly dialed her number and when she answered I exclaimed, “You need to take a picture of the huge cookie!”

“What huge cookie”, she laughed, “I think you have the wrong number!”

Unbelievable I thought to myself, “You huge dork, did you already eat that entire huge cookie!” I asked.

“I don’t have a huge cookie, I don’t know what you are talking about. I think you have the wrong number!” She said again while laughing.

At this point I was pretty much done playing and just reminded her if she didn’t already finish it off with the help of Kyle and Karolyn, she needed to take that picture.

That’s when the woman on the other end got serious as well and told me, “I really think you have the wrong number.”

And that’s when I realized I really did. So I hung up.

Yep, this is what it’s like to live the life of Lee. So tell me a story of a time when you humiliated yourself?

I just laughed until I cried. Thanks. As for embarrassing moments? I once pulled a wig off (I was going from one interview to another, and was wearing the wig for one, but not the other… long story) in the middle of traffic and suddenly heard what sounded like tires squealing. Apparently I nearly caused an accident. Oops.

LMAO! Only you Lee. Almost.

Once my sister jokingly hit the back of the head of woman at a grocery store thinking it was a friend. The STRANGER turned around. My sister, who really has bad eye site, was like – SORRY! And the stranger said, “Do you randomly hit people in the back of the head at the grocery store?” My sister was mortified and walked away, thinking, “Yes… yes I do.”

I think that’s just hilarious.
