Anti-Fracking PSA With Ed Begley Jr., Raphael Sbarge And Lee Allport!
Today President Obama rejected the construction of the Keystone XL Oil Pipeline. In celebration I decided to repost this completely awesome Anti-Fracking PSA I created along with my fellow blogger friends, the Mom Bloggers of ErieRising.com, actor Raphael Sbarge and Ed Begley Jr. And although my “causes” blog Bloggers Inspiring Change is currently not in working order it is a project I hope to pick up soon. There are so many causes I support and would love to write about and include the causes of other bloggers as well. Because we do have influence and we can use it for good. 😉
Let’s Fight Fracking
I’m a busy girl, I actually run ran three blogs. One of these blogs is was BloggersInspiringChange.org and a cause that is dear to my heart is hydraulic fracturing, or anti-fracking to be precise. A few months ago I contacted my dear friend Raphael and asked him if he’d be willing to do a PSA with me on the dangers of fracking. I wanted to educate the general public and help fight the practice of fracking in their communities. He runs Green Wish with Ed Begley Jr so I was pretty sure he’d be all over this. Both of them are known environmentalists. Luckily they were so I drafted a script and off we went.
Read our press release below to get the full details. I will tell you that everyone you see in this PSA is somehow impacted by hydraulic fracturing. This PSA was done with zero budget, in our own homes, with out own cameras. It’s the definition of grassroots. I think it adds to the appeal. Check us out. We’d love some thumbs up and comments over on YouTube!
Bloggers and Celebrities Unite to Educate Public On the Effects of Fracking
Participants Include Ed Begley Jr, Raphael Sbarge, Lee Allport, Marianna Nichols, Nichol Haskins, Jackie Pletsch, and The Mom Bloggers of ErieRising.com
(Los Angeles, CA August 21, 2012)- Bringing together the voices of actors and celebrities such as Ed Begley Jr. and Raphael Sbarge with bloggers and online influencers, BloggersInspiringChange.org and ErieRising.com have created a PSA to help educate the public on exactly what fracking is and how it can harm their communities.
“Fracking is a method of natural gas extraction that has the potential to poison our families. However, few people even know it’s happening, and that means there is something wrong with this situation,” said Lee Allport, Creator of BloggersInspiringChange.org.
“I’m so happy to be a part of the initiative,” said Raphael Sbarge, an actor and founder of the environmental awareness organization Green Wish. “Fracking is of great concern to those of us in the environmental movement, so it’s so wonderful to take part in a grassroots effort led by many of those most directly affected by the practice. These are the voices that need to be heard.”
Beyond this PSA, BloggersInspiringChange.org and the various participants ask that viewers at home get involved in fighting fracking in their communities by writing to your elected officials or supporting organizations such as http://www.ecowatch.org.
The PSA can be viewed online here http://youtu.be/qX8OBdiWyz8. For additional information on Bloggers Inspiring Change, please visit http://www.bloggersinspiringchange.org and to learn about how fracking has affected people by visiting ErieRising.WordPress.com

Wonderful. I think fracking is doing great harm to the Earth. I also think that many of the earthquakes experience in those areas are resulting from fracking practices.
My husband was in charge of an event regarding fracking at the university he works at. Although the purpose of the event was informational, it certainly was heated. I am happy to know that there are so many who feel passionately about protecting our planet.
Wow, I had never even heard of fracking until I read this. It sounds like it’s not so good for our planet, though.
I had no clue what fracking was until I read this post.
You are so awesome in championing the effort against fracking. It’s very disconcerting what we do to our earth.
I love that you guys did this! I also love that it was rejected!
Had no clue what fracking was but its pretty awesome you did this!
