My family loves visiting local water parks and Aquatica is a great option. It’s the SeaWorld water park and sits directly outside the theme park. With Wet’n Wild closing its doors patrons are looking for a new splash zone and Aquatica is centrally located and buckets of fun!
One of my favorite things about park is the vast array of seating. You don’t just have to sit at the wave pool, but instead you can sit near the Aquatica kiddie area Walkabout Waters. We chose to sit near here but also tucked away in a corner closer to the Roa’s Rapids not so lazy river. This was so much fun. The water moved quite quickly and the kids would actually allow me to play with them with little complaint. I’ve included a picture of Spencer playing underwater.
The crazy river was about where the fun slowed down for me, but the kids love water slides. I think Spencer and his friend Indigo spent at least 3 hours altogether at these slides that actually drop the floor out from under you. You need to be at least 48″ tall to ride Ihu’s Breakaway Falls and be prepared to walk up so many stairs you’ll be exhausted once you reach the top. But somehow that doesn’t bother little kids. Jason was enjoying the rides where you get a group together on one big float. The HooRoo Run was especially enticing or him and he tried to talk me into it more than once. But 3 big drops in a row and I said heck no.
Aquatica Dining Options
You can bring a cooler into Aquatica but you can not bring full size snacks like a full bag of chips or a full size sandwich. There are strict rules on food items that you need to follow. There are plenty of Aquatica dining options including an all day dining at the Banana Beach restaurant. We chose to dine at Mango Market and enjoyed everything from cheeseburgers, chicken fingers and an asian bowl. It was good too!
Next time you are in Orlando you can check out Aquatica as a fantastic fun water park option. We’ve been twice and had a blast both times. I never get good pictures because we are constantly on the move and soaking wet. But rest assured you’ll be moving as much as I did!
*I received 2 tickets to Aquatica to let you know if it was still a good time. It was, and you should check it out.
