Lately I’ve been communicating with you via my new Asus Chromebook which is one of my most popular eBay purchases of all time. It’s probably my favorite eBay purchase as far back as I can remember. As I’ve mentioned numerous times in the past I sit on the couch, in my little spot where the cushions’ are sagging, while I work. My previous laptop weighed almost 6lbs. It was an Asus(I like Asus), large with the extra numeric keypad and although portable not ideal for toting around my house or short distances.
eBay Auction Options
Remember back in the 1900’s when eBay was an auction site? Below you’ll see some of the popular eBay bidding style options they were once well known for.
- No Reserve: There were items on auction with no reserve, meaning you started bidding at $0 and when the countdown ended whatever the highest bid (no matter how low)won.
- Reserve: There were auctions with a set reserve. Bidding still started at $0 but the winning bid had to reach a hidden price to ensue sellers wouldn’t get completely ripped off once the timer went ring a ding ding. If the item didn’t hit the reserve the auction closed and no one won.
- Starting Price: There were items on auctions with a price you had to move up from and could never go below. Once again this gave the seller an option to remain confident they would profit on their auction. You could even set a reserve along with a starting price though it was often frowned upon in the world of eBay
It All Changed With eBay Buy It Now
Although all of the above are still available, for a long time now eBay has had the Buy It Now option. Now you don’t have to bid on the iPhone 6s, biting your nails in anticipation, wondering if you are wasting your precious time. Just like any online store you are able to click one button and purchase your product, often times with free shipping. eBay accepts Paypal, though they are no longer partners, keeping your safe from scammers. Although all of the eBay auction options I explained above are still in use, Buy It Now or Fixed Price options are just more popular.
Asus Chromebook C300M Review
So I used eBay’s Buy It Now to purchase my Asus C300M Chromebook. I love it so much and don’t know how I ever lived without it. It’s bigger than many Chromebooks with a 13.3 inch screen and weighing in at 3.1lbs. I chose this on purpose however because I knew I wouldn’t be able to work with a tiny computer, I’d might as well just get a tablet with a keyboard. This Asus Chromebook is still 3lbs lighter than my current Asus laptop. Now if I travel for short trips even on airplanes I’ll have a lot less bulk on my shoulder. I’m working with 4gb of memory which is harder to come by on the Chromebook front and 16gb of ram. The battery life is what I love the most. I can get about 8 hours of straight battery life out of this baby. And I mean active battery life where I’m not putting it down for long periods of time. If I do step away for long periods of time even more battery life exists. Spencer loves that I’m willing to just grab this and go upstairs to work while I watch him play video games. Since I don’t have to plug it in the portability is probably my favorite everyday aspect. A huge plus is the battery doesn’t get hot, it is like a cell phone battery so there are no vents or fans. Since I only use my Asus Chromebook on my lap I find this to be a winning spec! And did I mention it’s turquoise?
I was able to find a better deal on eBay for the Asus C300M Chromebook compared to Amazon.com and other retailers. eBay also allowed me to add two years of accident insurance to my electronics purchase for a fair price. The free shipping, this time free expedited shipping, had my new Asus on my lap in days.
I always include eBay in my search when looking for the best deals on products I need to purchase and this time it worked in my favor. Don’t forget to to include eBay in your search as well.
*eBay gifted me with this wonderful product, but all opinions are my own.
