I’m sure to tell you about this again, but Spencer received the role of Prince Eric in The Little Mermaid Jr. at his school. We’re ridiculously proud and excited for him and it will be his first performance. When Dr. Phillips Center announced they were putting on The Little Mermaid I absolutely had to take him. If you haven’t been to this beautiful theater you are missing out. Floor after floor of luxury and beautiful artwork done by local school children depicting Under the Sea.
Dr. Phillips Center – Disney’s The Little Mermaid – Fun For All Ages
There were so many children at the show even though it ran a bit late into the night with a final bow of 10:30pm. The majority were in joyous spirits and not even falling asleep. I’m sure the fun costumes and background sets kept their interest. The fan favorite songs sung by characters like Ariel, Sebastian and Ursula made you want to move and groove in your seat.
One of the most unique things about the show was how the mermaid characters all pretended to be kind of bobbing in the water at all times. Each one used the core to perform a belly dance like movement to give the illusion of constant motion. They absolutely must have abs of steel.
