Why do you visit the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival every year or why would you want to? Is it the delicious food that can be found at stations all over the park? I personally love just about anything offered in Mexico because Mexican cuisine is my favorite. We always run their first. Or is it the beautiful scenery crafted by professional horticulturists? The larger than life Disney character statues made from leaves and flowers are breathtaking. Or maybe you love to shop and you know they release new merchandise at each Flower and Garden festival? No matter the reason for visiting it’s a sure bet you are going to have a fantastic time and you won’t be able to take it all in during one day! I’ve put together a list of 24th Annual Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival must dos, must sees, must eats and more!
Epcot International Flower And Garden Festival Must Eat Food
I visited the 24th Annual Flower and Garden Festival last week and sampled quite a few of the dishes that are offered throughout the park. My personal favorite was the Florida Fresh Carne Asada with Black Bean Cake and Cilantro Lime Sour Cream. I love black beans so I’m sure this had quite a bit to do with it, but the flavors started a bit muted and that sour cream added such zest. Tim received 3rd of the Everything Berry Warm Wild Berry Buckle with Pepper Berry Ice Cream. It starts out sweet but it has a bite, a delicious tart bite. And you must try this ice cream! In my picture above starting clockwise the Flower and Garden dishes are as follows:
Smokehouse Beef Brisket Burnt Ends Hash with White Cheddar Fondue and Pickled Jalapenos
Florida Fresh Key Lime Tart with Toasted Meringue
Northern Bloom Seared Scallops with French Green Beans, Butter Potatoes, Brown Butter Vinaigrette and Apple-wood Smoked Bacon
Everything Berry Warm Wild Berry Buckle with Pepper Berry Ice Cream
Florida Fresh Carne Asada with Black Bean Cake and Cilantro Lime Sour Cream
Epcot Flower And Garden Must See Sights
I like to eat, as one can see, but my favorite part of the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival is the topiaries shaped like Disney characters. Every year I just stare in wonderment that anyone could be this talented. A few of my favorites this year are above. Other garden offers you can’t miss are listed below but there is so much more to do once you arrive:
Shakespeare Garden Thou shalt adore matching up famous quotes to flowers found within this vibrant garden at the United Kingdom Pavilion.
Pepper Fire Garden Think you can take the heat? Head to The Land Pavilion to take a peek at the world’s hottest peppers.
Butterflies on the Go presented by GoGo squeeZ™ Float over to this happening habitat at Future World to get an up-close glimpse at several species of butterflies—they may even brush by your shoulder during the exciting walk through tour.
Flower And Garden Must Do Tours And Entertainment
Shopping at the Walt Disney World theme parks is always fun but especially when a festival is going on. New merchandise is rolled out every year and collectors and new guests alike are sure to find something they’ll love. I personally fell head over heels for this shirt above. It has a deer, Figment and it is in the shape of Minnie Mouse.
Throughout the park you can purchase the Egg Hunt game. Go from country to country looking for the hidden Easter Egg (some are easier than others). Once you’ve found it mark it off on your sticker sheet and when you’re finished turn it in for a prize. It’s fun for adults and children though don’t get too excited about the prize. It’s not expensive however, so I still say it is worth the price.
There is a Twinings Royal Garden Tea Tour in the United Kingdom. Sign up for $15 and receive a 45 minute tour teaching you all about the different types of tea. Once finished you receive 2 scones, butters and jelly and a cup of tea.
Garden Rocks Concert Series
The Garden Rocks concert series at Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival kicked off with Jon Secada. He’s famous for hits such as If You Go, Just Another Day and he recently dropped a new Latin album called to Beny More With Love. This man is getting older and he has a ton of energy and he works out. Not only is his voice beautiful but so was he. I realized I knew the words to all of his English language songs as well. Unfortunately you’ve missed him but there are many more artists taking stage at Garden Rocks like:
Plain White T’s
There is no more beautiful time to visit Epcot than during the Flower and Garden Festival. I recommend staying at least two days so you can see as much as possible. Have fun!
