Today was a beautiful day in Los Angeles, though I think every day is a beautiful day in Los Angeles. I was granted the chance to sleep in when Victoria accidentally overslept and we got a late start to our day. We then spent the day visiting my favorite Los Angeles hot spots. drove out to Santa Monica, one of my favorite spots, and had breakfast at the delicious La Grande Orange. I want to apologize to Victoria, cause when I get hungry and my blood sugar drops I turn into a raving lunatic. I was so hungry and we had to park nearly 1/2 a mile from the restaurant and I started feeling faint and I got really moody. I seriously didn’t think I was going to make it. We almost had to drop our plans and eat at a very scary cafe instead. But I pushed on and I’m glad I did. This La Grande Orange had the best french fries on the planet. They are hand cut on site and spiced perfectly. Yum!
Next stop was my favorite Hollywood memorabilia thrift store It’s A Wrap. They sell clothing and accessories from hit television shows and movies. They were specializing in clothes from my favorite show Criminal Minds and I would have loved to get something that Spencer Reid wore. I think I found a few of his button up shirts but they were all between $50-80 and I’m sorry, but there is a chance they weren’t his and a bigger chance they were from his body double, so it wasn’t worth the price. I can rarely ever find anything for me there though because most actors are skinny and I’m a fat girl, so usually I just watch Victoria pick stuff out.
After that Victoria took me to the beautiful Greystone Mansion. It is this humongous sprawling mansion in the Hollywood Hills that has been in many movies. For example Ghost Busters and The Witches Of Eastwick and most recently There Will Be Blood with Daniel Day Lewis. We took a lot of pictures and they all turned out bad. But I’ll include one of the mansion itself. I recommend this site to absolutely anyone visiting LA or residents alike. Greystone Mansion has the best view in all of LA plus it’s free so come out and breathe in some fresh air and enjoy nature.
We got hot and tired so we left and headed over to Century City Mall. I really like this mall and always end up spending money when I visit. It’s not like I don’t have tons of malls in Orlando, but this mall just calls my name and tugs at my wallet. I bought some make up at Sephora that I had been wanting for a long time. Then we were hungry so we walked over to Rock Sugar. Victoria and I talk about eating at this restaurant all the time and we never do. Rock Sugar is a Pan Asian restaurant that is so creatively decorated I actually took pictures. That is how lame I am, I take pictures in a trendy LA restaurant. I never cease to embarrass Victoria. LOL. We ordered Pot Stickers and Pad Thai and although the Pot Stickers were not the best (I think they were chicken and they should be pork) but the Pad Thai was the best. Our drinks were to die for as well. I have a thing for lychees and they had a lychee and champagne drink, it was $10 but I didn’t care. It was so tasty. Victoria got some kind of Asian ice tea that she loved. It was a fantastic experience!
On the way to bring Victoria home we stopped at a Ralph’s grocery store and I saw an actress that I love! Her name is Rachel Boston and she was a regular on one of my all time favorite shows American Dreams (she played JJ’s girlfriend Beth). When I saw her my eyes got huge and I know she noticed. But Victoria refused to let me go up to her. I used to live in NYC so I totally understand that it is rude to walk up to a celeb in the grocery store, but I think she would have been okay with it. She was totally casual in what seemed to be yoga clothes. She is just so darn pretty and she looked as good in person as she does in the movies. I really like her and I hope she goes far because she is a very talented actress.
That was my fun Sunday in Los Angeles. I really should just move here…
