Wondering where to head for Spring Break down South? I just brought the entire family on a trip to Hilton Cocoa Beach Oceanfront hotel for a weekend. Apparently we’re getting old because Tim asked for a metal detector for Christmas and he was itching to use it. Even though the water was freezing my boys love the chance to visit the beach. This family friendly, yet couples comfortable hotel was a great choice. One you should consider for the upcoming holiday.
Play In The Water
Located on beautiful Cocoa Beach, where cars are not allowed to drive keeping it safe and pristine, you’ll find this major hotel. With activities such as Ron Jon Surf Shop, different gambling cruises and Kennedy Space Center located down the road it’s a sure bet for fun. Now of course you also have the huge beach right outside your hotel and Hilton offers items such as beach chairs and boogie boards for rent.
Back at the hotel there is a swimming pool and splash pad for kids. There are lounge chairs for the adults to relax while everyone plays. There is no lifeguard on duty. The pool is a wonderfully warm temperature that makes you dread getting out. Although as I mentioned we were visiting during a chillier time of the year. This is just a simple small swimming pool with no bells or whistles. If extras are important to you please keep this in mind before booking a room. Like most hotels they offer free towels that are actually a bit bigger than usual.
There are bathrooms inside but no changing area or inside locker room/showers. This is an update I’d love to see in the future. Especially for guests checking out early but not catching a plane for hours. We might not be young spring breakers anymore, but we’d still love to get every moment out of the beach possible.
Hilton Cocoa Beach Oceanfront Rooms – Recharge
Purple. There was a fluffy purple chair in my room which made me the happiest girl in the world. Against the crisp white of the sheets and the cornflower blue of the walls the room was beautifully modern. My favorite feature was the charging outlets located along the side of the headboard. No complaining due to lack of outlets in these hotel rooms! There are no balconies so keep that in mind. The shower head sprayed strong and hot which you all know means a lot to me. Everything was comfortable and very clean.
Longboards Tiki Beach Grille
The big draw at Hilton Cocoa Beach Oceanfront is Longboards Tiki Beach Grille the poolside area bar. During your hard earned vacation time you might want to have a drink and relax. They have seasonal entertainment (live music) and drinks until midnight. Longboards has a full menu and kid’s menu so arrive on an empty stomach. I checked it out and people were having a blast and being rather loud. No worries, you couldn’t hear them in the hotel, but if you want a good time this is where you will find it. Although some people were being especially loud there were still a lot of children around and guests were on good behavior.
Salt Restaurant – Grab A Meal
For breakfast the Salt Restaurant has a variety of choices including two types of buffets. You can enjoy basics like eggs and bacon and fruit or add on eggs, bacon and a made to order omelette station. My children always enjoy watching the chef whip up an omelette with items of their choosing. Instead of the buffet you can try menu items such as Salt Caramel Challah French Toast or the Morning Rush Sandwich Croissant. Except for the small fire I started in the toaster oven everything was delightful. That’s on me obviously.
This Cocoa Beach hotel is one of the only 4 star hotels on this strip of the beach. Whether you are looking for a comfortable room and some quiet time or the chance to party and let loose you’ll leave happy. If you choose to spend your spring break vacation with the Hilton Cocoa Beach Oceanfront you won’t be disappointed.
