Holidays at Universal 2016 has begun and runs until January 1st. Throughout this time you can enjoy Grinchmas, Macy’s Holiday Parade and Mannheim Steamroller. In between these three entertaining events you can also catch the new King Kong ride Skull Island which has an interactive line. And don’t forget to check out Bruce Banner at the new Hulk Coaster. This was Jason’s favorite coaster in Orlando. But most importantly we enjoyed the Holiday festivities.
It’s that time again, the man with a bag is coming, but I don’t mean Santa. The Grinch is back at Universal Orlando Resorts. Grinchmas 2016 is in full swing and I caught up with the old crank with his too small shoes for a quick interview. I’d heard a rumor that this year he was going all in on Christmas and I had to get it straightened out. The Grinch being nice and happy on at Christmastime? I just couldn’t imagine.
Macy’s Holiday Parade
Also included in your Universal theme park ticket is the 15th annual Macy’s Holiday Parade. During this special parade many balloons from New York City are brought down here to be displayed. New balloons and floats are introduced each year and this year is no different. The Virginia balloon from Yes Virginia There is a Santa Claus is adorable as can be floating high in the sky. If you are familiar with The Nutcracker you’ll enjoy Mother Ginger driving by in her huge balloonicle dress with characters from the show riding around her. As always you’ll enjoy special Universal entertainment characters like Spongebob Squarepants, The Simpsons, Minions and more. It’s especially cute to see them often dressed up in some holiday attire and happy to be included in the festivities.
Holidays at Universal
The music at all the shows is incredibly catchy and I find myself singing it for days (weeks). If you can’t make it out to New York City, or don’t want to fight those crowds, the Macy’s Holiday Parade is a perfect substitution. Trust me, I lived in Manhattan, I know. Grinchmas puts on a Broadway style show with huge talent, dazzling costumes and original music. Buy your tickets now, Holidays at Universal runs until January 1st.
* I received tickets to enjoy the event. All opinions are my own.
