Even if you’ve come to Orlando for a hot, sunny holiday you should cool down with Ice! at Gaylord Palms. This year the theme is A Christmas Story and each scene is straight from the movie. No, you won’t want to lick the sculptures and trust me, there are a lot of signs warning you not to. There are plenty of ticket options to get you into Ice! at Gaylord Palms and you can visit their website to learn more about the Ice experiences being offered. Remember it is cold in there, a balmy 9 degrees so be sure to dress appropriately. You can wear anything you’d like because they give you a parka, but I still recommend no tank tops or shorts. And closed toed shoes are required. Here are some samples of what you’ll see during your visit.
Cirque Dreams Unwrapped
There are other ways to entertain yourself during Ice! at Gaylord Palms. You can make an entire day of it. Cirque Dreams Unwrapped is a fantastical circus filled with whimsical wonder and players from all walks of life. You may get to see aerialists, roller skating daredevils, strong men who can balance and juggle more than your average performer and many other gravity-defying acts.
Alpine Village – Ice! At Gaylord Palms
Alpine Village is actually our favorite part of Ice! at Gaylord Palms. There is so much to do and see. Our first stop is always Santa’s Snow Throw, where the kids are able to use snowballs to take aim at some fun targets. After that, they jump in the tubes and sail down the snow hills. You can purchase special stuffed animals at Build A Bear, decorate a gingerbread, try to get out of an escape room, listen to a story with Mrs. Claus and so much more. Plan an entire day and if possible, book a room and spend the night!
When you are looking for things to do in Central Florida for the holidays be sure to visit Ice! at Gaylord Palms for a fun filled day of chilly fun. You can even top it off with a visit to see Santa Claus. That’s what I call a sweet holiday treat.
*Thanks to Gaylord Palms for hosting our family so I can share this event with you.
