It’s Pet Appreciation Week so it’s time to show special love and care to those that cuddle us on the couch and really melt our hearts. I am not sure I’ve ever said the words “I had so much fun today at the pet store!” but today at Pet Supplies Plus both Jason and I had a blast. Our local Pet Supplies Plus is a bit far but totally worth the drive. It’s a smaller more personal experience and they still had everything we could ever need. Food that goes across both walls from store brands to gourmet, toys that squeak and jingle and collars in all the colors.
When we walked into the Altamonte Springs store the two girls working were immediately happy to see us. I told them why I was visiting and they started showing me around and telling me all about their favorite items. Had I seen the Thunder Shirt? How about the holistic dog food? Did I know they groomed pets at Pet Supplies Plus?
Not to say it was overwhelming, but these ladies really knew their stuff. While I took a few moments to walk around the store and take it all in Jason played with the dog and explored as well. I had been given a $50 gift card by the store to purchase some goodies to write about so I had some shopping to do. I decided on some things for our cat Lily because she doesn’t get spoiled as often as the dogs. We got her a new cat carrier and a Turbo cat scratcher then we spent the extra on a few bones for the dogs.
The store had some great items that I wanted to run away with but might not have been practical for our home. For example they had a bird that Jason really wanted but I said no way! I fell in love with this soft rug that is meant to absorb water called the Soggy Doggy Door Mat. However I was more concerned about sand than dirt and water so I passed it up.
I did notice though that although they had all these great products, they really had an immense inventory of pet food. Aisles and aisles and even refrigerators full of all different types of food. You might think that because they were a smaller store they would have to skimp on product but in this department they do not. I didn’t ask, but I might even say they’d carry special foods you can’t find other places. All their food brands prices I checked online were competitive so no worries there. You won’t be paying more for personalized service. And at my store the girls absolutely knew what they were talking about.
I can’t say enough positive things about Pet Supplies Plus. Today as we were driving by to go car shopping and we were behind schedule my husband said “Look there is that pet store you told me about!” to which I replied “Oh can we stop by!”.
Right now they are offering a $25 gift card to one lucky reader so read the directions and enter below. Be sure to check and make sure there is a store in your area because this is an in store gift card.
