SeaWorld’s 50th anniversary is upon us and you are invited to come experience SeaWorld’s 50th Celebration at all 3 of their parks. This Celebration officially began March 21, 2014. The 50th Celebration will include a Sea of Surprises ™ to commemorate this amazing key milestone for the company.
SeaWorld Orlando invited a group of bloggers to come and check out the opening of the park on March 21st to mark this momentous occasion. We were greeted with characters in beautiful costumes, pirates, some adorable penguins as well as some of the animal trainers from SeaWorld. They opened with the National Anthem which was very touching. Then they began to tell us about the exciting Sea of Surprises coming to the park this year. The morning also included recognition of pass holders with over 70 charter members in attendance.
Now on to those Sea of Surprises at SeaWorld’s 50th Celebration I mentioned earlier. Starting on March 21st these include a Bubble Blow Out where a whimsical vehicle stops to create bubbles of all sizes and shapes throughout Shamu’s Happy Harbor, spontaneous performances like Splash Dance, and comedy and laughter to greet crowds in the Nautilus Theater. It also includes the SeaWorld Sea of Surprise Squad. The Squad delights guests daily with random giveaways from exclusive access to rides to behind-the-scenes experiences to Shamu themed merchandise. In June a new nighttime show “Shamu’s Celebration: Light Up The Night” will debut. The show is sure to be high energy including original production elements as well as new killer whale behaviors.
If you like art and are concerned about the oceans then the all-new Sea Garden opened for Sea World’s 50th Celebration is one stop you cannot miss. In this area there are 4 amazing sculptures. SeaWorld commissioned environmental art group Washed Ashore Project to make these larger than life creations. They include a seahorse, parrot fish, sea anemone reef and an octopus all made from material collected from the oceans. Mostly hard plastic such as flip flops, water bottles, combs, and plastic containers are included. These materials only make up an infinitesimal percentage of the billions of pounds of garbage that pollutes our oceans. Look closely at the pictures below and you will see some very odd items found in our oceans.
Right now Sea World is offering a 50% off Celebration ticket offer. For a limited time you can take advantage of some great deals where you buy one ticket get one for 50% off. You can also celebrate on weekdays with a SeaWorld Orlando $50 weekday ticket. In addition, Florida Residents can take advantage of an annual pass starting at just $13 per month with EZpay to come back to the park and enjoy the celebration again and again.
