Have you seen every episode of The Walking Dead? Do you have a favorite character or possibly mourned the turning of a character? If this is the case you’ll want to check out a Walker Stalker Con in your area. The greatest talent from both The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead come together for photos, panels, meet and greets and autograph signings. There are also booths upon booths of products, many handmade, supporting your favorite fandoms and more geekdom you can’t miss!
The entire family visited Walker Stalker Con Orlando a few weeks ago and we all got something out of it! Spencer has been taking acting lessons in Orlando from Jordan Woods-Robinson for a while now so we wanted to check out his panel. Jordan played Eric on The Walking Dead and is also a talented musician. He was interviewed and performed songs from his Album Anthem which I love with all my heart. There are many panels like this with all your favorite Walking Dead stars.
Walker Stalker Con – Celebrity Guests
Spencer and I explored the Guest booth area and chatted up quite a few of the celebrities. He asked them if they had any advice for a young actor and many Walking Dead actors were happy to share. Jenna Elfman from Fear the Walking Dead told Spencer to embrace his character when the camera is rolling and embrace himself when the director says cut. She was excited to meet her fans and was incredibly sweet even taking time to chat with me about the California housing market.
Macsen Lintz told Spencer to accept all auditions and look at them as learning experiences. Little (okay he’s not so little) Henry on The Walking Dead is the sweetest kid and will absolutely go far. He talked to Spencer for quite a while and gave him some great tips. Keep an eye out for him next season as he continues to do great things!
I had a selfish reason for visiting Walker Stalker Con this year and it was to meet Seth Gilliam. As everyone is well aware I’m a huge Teen Wolf fan and he was one of the stars playing Dr. Deaton. Jordan had promised to introduce us so that it was a more intimate conversation but unfortunately the timing was never right. Luckily I had the chance to talk to him all by myself (big girl pants) and I simply told him we were friends with Jordan and that I was a huge fan. He smiled and started teasing me, saying he would ask me the questions he asks all his young adult Teen Wolf fans even though I was 40. I told him I’m hardcore Team Stiles but Peter owns my heart at the end of the day. We talked for quite a while and I was thrilled! Geek moment lived out!
Walker Stalker Con – Artist’s Alley & Handmade Items Galore
Jason was a big fan of Artist’s Alley and all the handmade items for sale. Since he is a gamer and a true nerd at heart he was able to find items he would never have found elsewhere. This year he grabbed a few sketchbooks with comic book covers. Definitely an original find. He also spent time watching the artists do their thing which is a pretty neat perk of the convention if you enjoy art. Check out what Rob Prior had to offer.
If you want photo opps you can pay for the professional pictures which usually start around $50 or a lot of the actors include a selfie picture at their table for a bit less money. If you have a special fascination with one specific actor coughing up some extra dough for a picture an autograph can be well worth it, because when else will you have this chance?
Oh and did we mention the cosplay? It is so much fun to see all the walkers, cast member doubles, and of course just fun cosplay from other fandoms. Spencer went head over heels for this Batman villains group. He has a thing or the Joker and he asked to take a picture with them. Cosplayers are almost always thrilled to take pics when asked! So have a good time and get clicky.
The good news is Walker Stalker Con is in a ton of states. They have worked hard to spread themselves all over te country and in London. Atlanta is by far the best bet as is London but we had a great time here in Orlando were the crowds weren’t too heavy. Check out their website and decide your nearest Walker Stalker Con location and check it out. Have fun!
*Thank you so much for the complimentary tickets to this special event! We hope to return year in and year out.
