Each year I tell you all about all the things to do in Orlando during Christmas. Often you decide you will fly or drive here to Central Florida for a weekend getaway to enjoy Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party or Universal’s Grinchmas. Many times you’ll write me and ask which hotel I’d recommend for your trip. About two months ago I stayed in the newly refurbished Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive.
Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive Review – Lobby
Recently they tore this hotel down to the studs in order to give it a complete face lift. Now it’s fully remodeled and back in business. The lobby is so comfortable, every single seat is sitable. Go ahead and laugh but remember previous hotel reviews where I mention seating and balancing. I just want to relax with a cup of coffee and my magazine in case my room isn’t available or in this instance, Jason was at a conference. The Wyndham Orlando lobby allows you to do this. Also, they have oversize games for the kids (or adults who act like kids) like Connect 4 to keep you occupied.
Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive Review – Guest Room
Our room though. That was the big draw of the day. This International Drive Wyndham guest room looked like most guest rooms but hid bunk beds for Jason. He had his own television which was his favorite part of the entire stay. We allowed him to stay up as late as he wanted because we couldn’t really hear him. I would have loved if they offered a curtain for privacy but it was still a really neat guest room option.
Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive Review – Amenities
Like most hotels there are two pools and a hot tub. I was told one pool is heated and one is not which can offer different benefits depending on your preference. If you like to work out everyday they have a great facility with up to date machines. Included is also a sauna and showers in case you had to check out and wanted to stick around the pool before your flight. Speaking of the airport, you can book a shuttle to the airport from the hotel at a much less expensive rate than you’ll find with uber or most other services. Do it early though because they do book up.
Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive Review – Dining
There is one restaurant on the premise called Gatorville. It serves drinks throughout the day and breakfast from 6:30 to 11. You can sit inside or there are tables outside. The great things is they will bring the food and drinks to your pool chair. That is always such a treat and I tend to buy more alcohol, which is unheard of for me, at the pool.
Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive Review – Entertainment
You have seen me talk about iDrive 360 numerous times, especially on my social media. Wyndham Orlando International Drive is the official hotel of iDrive 360 and is absolutely covered in restaurants and entertainment. While we were staying in the hotel we ate at both Chuy’s and Buffalo Wild Wings and Cold Stone Creamery all within walking distance of our room. We didn’t take part in Sea Life Aquarium or Madame Tussauds this time because we’ve already had that fun before! But you can and you’ll have a blast.
This is a pet friendly hotel located in a fantastic location for the holiday events in Central Florida. You’ve got quite a few options for comfortable rooms. But the best part will be all the entertainment surrounding you. Book your room now at the Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive.
*I received a free night during Jason’s AV Club conference so I could tell you all about it. These opinions are my own.
